The new Baptist Temple, on the corner of East Main Street and Liberty Pole Way in Downtown Rochester, NY.
Circa 1926.

Built to accomodate Rochester's growing Baptist congregration, as well as provide office space, this 14-story, Neo-Gothic skyscraper replaced the previous 2nd Baptist church in 1925 (the neighboring, new Sibley Building would complete its construction later that same year). It would remain occupied by the Baptist congregation until 1965. Newly renovated, it is now known as "The Temple Building," offering residential and comericial loft space.

Present-day view would be from E Main Street in front the Sibley Building, click here.
