March 13, 2018 marked the the last day coal was transported to Kodak Park via rail to fuel its onsite power plant and the beginning of a new era of greater environmental sustainability. After 100+ years of service, the Park has officially moved on from coal power to adopt a more the efficient power of natural gas and electric. Fortunately, the railcars and historic chimneys will remain on the premises, with most of the boilers either having been shut down or coverted to gas.

Present-day view would be from the corner of Lake Avenue, click here.
